Stronger Climate Resilience

Heat risks are increasing in urban centres and roads and highways are flooding during increased rainfall. Our most valuable infrastructure was built for a climate that no longer exists. Delays in strengthening our resilience will only increase the future financial burden on taxpayers, while climate adaptation can deliver strong value for money and strengthen our foundations for sustainable growth.

An integrated approach of nature based solutions - expanding our urban forests to mitigate extreme heat, reduce runoff and decrease flood risks - together with investment in climate adapted infrastructure - like heat resistant asphalt and porous pavements - will continue to protect our quality of life as climate risks intensify.
