Why I'm Running

I'm running to bring strong new leadership to Ward 1.
As an educator and organizer I know the importance of service to the community and I've seen firsthand what works and what doesn't. After 8 years of the same representation in Ward 1, I had to ask why our priorities continue to take a back seat at City Hall.
I didn't step into politics to watch from the sidelines.
I stepped forward to bring a strong voice, to represent the community I love and to fight for our local priorities every single day.
I believe government should work as hard as the people it serves - and it's time to restore trust in our elected officials to make the right choices for our community.
Orléans-East Cumberland deserves action and accountability.
Safer, affordable and thriving communities with a strong local economy is what I'm fighting for.
My Priorities
My Priorities
Strong, Local Representation at City Hall:
Government should work as hard as the people it serves• Accountability and transparency in spending: ensuring residents can see how their
tax dollars are spent on roads, local projects, and repairs, including a new committee to
coordinate road closures and reduce neighbourhood disruptions• Better community engagement: regular local events, community needs workshops,
and consistent updates so residents always know what's happening in their ward• Tracking results, not just promises: clear goals, public progress reports, and
measurable outcomes for every major projectClosing the Funding Gap for Orléans East-Cumberland
• Fixing our roads and public spaces: pushing City Hall to direct more funding to the
roads, sidewalks, and public areas that Orléans East-Cumberland residents rely on
every day• Investing in rural infrastructure: making sure residents outside the urban core have
access to the services and investments their communities need• Growing our cultural and business identity: securing funding for Francophone and
multicultural programming, supporting the Business Improvement Area (BIA), and
making sure East End priorities aren't left behind at the budget tableSafer, More Affordable, and Thriving Communities
• Supporting families: safer streets, more youth programs and spaces, expanded childcare
options, and stronger protection for our local environment and precious greenspace• Better transit, easier commutes, connected communities: a stronger, more reliable
transit network linking neighbourhoods, local businesses, and the rest of the city• A better environment for local business: more opportunities for local businesses to
set up and grow in the East End, with less red tape, more support, and clearer legal
guidance by streamlining the city's permitting process
